The Log Homes Council new website, LogHomes.org

This project for an association of log home manufacturers based in Washington, D.C., involved migrating more than 500 pages of content onto a new website written and built by Bevier Creative. We built this site on the Drupal platform, which is an open source content management system.  This site enables members of the Log Homes Council to display a bio, photo gallery and you tube video of their homes and crafting process, as well as adding their own events. The owners of the site can add content themselves (without html knowledge), through an easy to use browser-based dashboard.

This site also features an easily changeable slider at the top of the page, which engages visitors and draws them deeper into the site’s content. The design, which echoes that of a magazine, also features three advertising areas, with banners at the top of the page, and smaller ad spaces in the right sidebar. When there are more than one ad for a region, we created a way for the ads to rotate randomly, which we are rightfully proud of. A ubiquitous “Tell Me More” contact form on nearly every page, makes it easy for visitors to request more information as well as increase the number of leads log home manufacturers receive.

Owners of Mountain Girl Organics, Paula Aurand-Stephens and her husband Scott make handcrafted olive oil soaps, shea whip body butters, bath fizzies , spa gift sets and more. All their products are made under Colorado blue skies, in small batches with organically sourced raw materials whenever possible.

While the couple has a growing list of retailers who are offering their products, they wanted an e-commerce website to sell directly to consumers. Bevier Created crafted that e-commerce site on the wordpress platform, so that they can change content and product photos whenever they like, using an easy-to-operate browser-based dashboard. In addition to routing payment through paypal, the site also calculates U.S. postal charges, based on the weight of the products in the order, and adds this amount to the total. A special plug in used on the site, enables them to run specials and sales, including discount codes that they promote on their facebook page that saves clients on shipping.

When they log into their dashboard, the first thing they see are pending orders, so they know instantly what needs to be shipped. The home page design features a series of sliders, which draws visitors further into the site, with links to the entire product catalog, as well as more individual product lines.

Maria K. Gordon, Registered Dietitian and certified personal trainer (American College of Sports Medicine) is the proud owner of Plant 2 Plate Nutrition. Maria offers personalized exercise and nutritional consulting services that are based out of a setting of the client’s choice. Maria specializes in weight management and working with athletes. She is also available to give health and wellness presentations on a variety of topics to a wide range of audiences.
